Joe really wanted to go to the zoo. We have a perfectly good zoo here in Calgary, but being the agreeable sort that I am, said "Ok." So day 2, also Nov 2, we set off for the Bronx Zoo via public transit (bus). We had a very good driver - gotta love those New Yorkers - they are deceptive - crusty outside, soft inside.
As you can see, we were still in fall colours and many of the trees were big ol' oak trees. I have to say, they were my favorite part of the day! They were amazing! Joe will know what the birds are so I'll come back and fill in the blanks when he's available for commentary. In the meantime, here is my selection of Bronx Zoo pix.

There are many other animal varieties there - we didn't have time to see the whole zoo in one day and some of the animals just were not in good locations for picture taking - too dark, too far away, etc. And some we took were out of focus. But this should give you an idea. It is a very nice zoo - Calgary's is just as nice though.
